2013 Spring Drive
By Mary Petersen
The
2013 Spring Drive took place on Sunday, May 19th. The Brits met at the Marathon gas
station on Capitol Avenue, then drove to the Wheatberry Restaurant & Tavern in Buchanan, Michigan
for lunch, followed by a tour of Michigan wineries. Several Brits were already waiting at
the Wheatberry. We had 11 cars and 21 Brits meeting for
lunch. Before the tour started, one
of the cars was overheating, so….. members pitched in
and tried to help. Someone always
has a spare part handy for a quick fix!

First
stop for the seven cars on the wine tour was the Lemon Creek Winery. Some enjoyed tasting wine, while others
sat outside enjoying the warm weather. One of the members discovered that he had no brake lights so…once again
Brits to the rescue. Next stop, Round Barn Winery. There were many wines and beers to
taste. Some tasted both. It
was getting late so some decided to start the journey home. Deb and Tom and Bob and Mary decided to
try the new Hickory Creek Winery. It was small but had delicious wines. All in all, it was a great day for a
ride in our Little British Cars!!!!
