Fall Colors Drive

By Herminne Marrese

On a chilly October 17th morning, smiling LBC drivers gathered at the Glanders residence to stow their goodies before heading out to enjoy one of the club’s last driving adventures of the season. The leaves were in their full glory as we headed through the back roads of Indiana and Michigan. After a few hours’ drive through winding, hilly roads, thirteen British cars wound up at the Fisher Lake Inn, a favorite lunch spot for our members. Meals were served, stories exchanged and we were off through more beautiful scenery. All but one brave MGB driver and his passenger had their tops up, but as the weather was turning chilly, that last brave soul’s top was quickly put up with the help of a few members. A quick stop at Bonneyville State Park gave some of us the opportunity to visit the old Mill and view the beautiful flowers.

Several members left for parts unknown and our group grew smaller. Our travels continued through the back roads of Michigan with a stop in Cassopolis for fuel and munchies. Off again to enjoy dinner at Randy & Bev Glanders’ home and watch some well-awaited football. Fans of both Michigan and Notre Dame had their eyes on the TV with much anticipation.
This trip was well-planned by Randy Glanders and Keith Wishmeier and their efforts were enjoyed by all. What a spectacular way to end our 2015 driving season before our British treasures are put away for another year.
